Dimension XLVII

Dimension XLVII, our annual national exhibition, attracts a wide range of contemporary art from artists across the country. The artist whose work receives the Best of Show award, will be awarded a solo exhibition in 2020. The juror for this year's exhibit is Lyle Williams, Curator of Prints and Drawings, for the McNay Art Museum.

Collaborative Show

All artwork submitted must be made by two or more artists working together. This exhibition is open to all mediums and subject matters (2D & 3D art). Online submissions open June 7 and are due by August 2. Entry Fee of $25 for members and $30 for non-members. Fee includes up to three entries. 

Barry Brown Clay Studio Show

You are invited to enter the 16th Annual Clay Studio Group Exhibit!  This show is open to all current CSG members. *YOU MUST BE A CURRENT CLAY STUDIO MEMBER* This is a great opportunity to show off what we love to do at the Barry Brown Clay Studio.  All levels of expertise combined with the fun of working with clay can be showcased at this event. We want every member to submit at least one piece to demonstrate the diversity of our studio, so please do not miss this opportunity to exhibit your work in one of Corpus Christi’s most popular shows!

ENTRIES:  Up to 3 entries per artist.

ENTRY FEES:  $10 per piece due upon delivery.  Fees are non refundable even if work is not selected for this exhibition.  One work per artist is guaranteed for selection.

ELIGIBILITY:  Original works of art must be comprised primarily of clay, completed within the last 2 years and not previously shown in the main gallery of the Art Center.  All entries must meet Art Center guidelines.

MAXIMUM SIZE:  May not exceed 72 inches in any direction.

REQUIREMENTS:   Sculptures must be manageable by two people.  Artists must be available to install complicated pieces.

JUDGING:  In addition to selecting works for awards, the judge will select at least one piece from each entrant to be in the show and may select up to 3.

AWARDS: Best of Show, as well as 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Honorable Mentions in functional and sculptural categories. 

 

Best of Show…$100 plus one bag of clay

1st………….…... $75 plus one bag of clay

2nd………........$50 plus one bag of clay

3rd……….........$25 plus one bag of clay

Honorable Mentions.……..Award Ribbon

 

SALES:  All of your submissions must be “For Sale”.  The Art Center needs our support and retains 30% commission of the sale price, so price your pieces accordingly.

 

CALENDAR:   

Receiving for Entries:  Saturday, July 27ty from 10am to 4pm & Sunday, July 28 from 11am-2pm

Exhibit Dates:   July 30th through August 25th

Reception:      Wednesday, August 7th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm

Close of show:     Saturday, August 24th

Pick up Pieces:   Sunday August 24th

 

***Volunteers are needed to help with intake and set up and everyone who enters should bring an appetizer for the reception - please sign up in the studio.

Pastel Show

OPEN CALL FOR ENTRY- both members and non members are welcome to submit. All work submitted must be pastel.
